Brinkman Collection - Two Day Antique Auction

This collection is from Mary Brinkman and her late husband Jim of Aurelia, Iowa.  Jim and Mary started collecting antiques in 1978.  Mary started her business, The Cedars - Antiques, in 1981.  The Brinkman name might be recognized from the quality antique ads run in various publications in the 80's and 90's and the antique shows they did throughout Iowa and Minnesota.  Jim and Mary specialized in Victorian glass and china and furnished their home with an eclectic mix of furniture styles in oak and walnut.  With Jim's passing away, Mary has decided to turn to another occupation, that of being a foster parent.  By passing on their wonderful treasures and the business inventory, Mary's home can be more child friendly and she can more easily work with children.  

One of the highlights of the auction is what was affectionately called "The Bat Lamp", a glass-eyed ceramic miniature lamp of great rarity.  It seems to be only the third known example.  We strongly suggest you review and make plans for this fascinating auction.

Sales Tax:  All "Business Inventory" must have a 7% Iowa sales tax collected.  All "Personal Property Inventory" will be exempt from sales tax.  Furniture, Guns and other personal property antiques will have no sales tax collected.  Each item exempt from tax has been noted in the listing as: *NT* = (No Tax) - Dealers must provide a copy of their current tax exempt status.

Condition:  All known damage seen at listing has been called.  Common nicks & scratches have not been called.  Woody Auction has attempted to call any flaw that could affect the selling value of an item, but final determination is up to the prospective buyer.
